Creating Memories And Strengthening Relationships
He
Welcom to "Get Outside Together"
Founded by Zak Hazlett, a Moab native who grew up exploring the Colorado River and the red rock canyons that define this landscape, Get Outside Together was born from a lifelong love of the outdoors and a deep belief in its power to heal. After growing up alongside the Colorado river and spending over a decade as a river guide — watching how time on the river brought people closer, grounded them, and helped them see themselves differently — Zak went on to become a Marriage and Family Therapist as well as a yoga instructor. He’s since blended these worlds to create experiences that invite people to slow down, reconnect, and find meaning through shared adventure.
At Get Outside Together, we’re not about luxury resorts or surface-level escapes. We’re about real connection — with yourself, your loved ones, and the natural world. Our retreats combine the thrill of rafting, hiking, and exploring with moments of stillness, mindfulness, and reflection. Whether you come alone, as a couple, or with family, each trip is designed to remind you of what truly matters: presence, gratitude, and authentic connection.
This isn’t therapy — it’s life, lived more intentionally. The river, the canyon walls, and the open sky do their own kind of work. Out here, you’ll laugh harder, breathe deeper, and leave lighter.
So come join us — step away from the noise, lean into the adventure, and discover what happens when we get outside together.

Zak Hazlett
Owner
Zak Hazlett was born and raised in the picturesque town of Moab, Utah, where he developed a deep love for the outdoors and an appreciation for the power of human connection. Growing up, Zak spent much of his time river rafting and guiding for with his family’s river rafting business—honing his skills as an expert of the river and developing a keen sense of adventure.
After completing his Masters Degree, Zak became a marriage and family therapist, using his skills to help people navigate the many challenges of life and build stronger, healthier relationships. But despite his success in his chosen profession, Zak never lost his passion for the outdoors and his desire to help others experience the same sense of joy and fulfillment that he found in nature.
With this in mind, Zak founded "Get Outside Together," an organization that helps people disconnect from the stress of daily life and reconnect with one another through a variety of outdoor activities. Whether it's river rafting, hiking, camping, rock climbing, or simply exploring the natural beauty of the world around us, Zak's mission is to use the power of nature to bring people together and create lasting memories and meaningful connections.
Today, Zak continues to inspire and empower people from all walks of life to embrace the great outdoors and all the wonder and adventure it has to offer. His passion for the natural world and his unwavering commitment to helping others make him a true force for good in the world, and a shining example of what can be achieved when we combine our love of people with our love of nature.

Canine Tour Guides
Duke & Ziggy cannot join us on the river because we are floating in Canyonlands National Park, but they will greet everyone with smiles on Day 1. They are our resident "tour guides" and official mascots.
